General Meeting June 28, 2008|
Mike Rancour called the meeting to order at approximately 10:03 A.M.
Board members in attendance were Mike Rancour, Mike Flynn, Loyal Meech, Dan Radunz,
Kathy Royce, and George Chuba. Absent was Bob Mattson.
Attendance was 58.
Introduction of new member Dwight Seward was made.
Dan Radunz gave the Treasurer’s Report.
GENERAL FUND $1,691.59
EMERGENCY FUND $3,785.53
WALTER ISRAEL FUND $2,587.20
A motion was made, seconded and approved to accept the minutes for the Fall 2007 meeting
as posted on the web site rather than take the time to read them here.
Fall 2008 GOLA elections were discussed.
Fall meeting Potluck assignments were discussed.
Fall launch ramp dates for Lake O’Brien were discussed.
Guest Speaker Doug Rhode of the Pine River Watershed Alliance gave a presentation on water quality
and shoreline management.
Pat Selter, Vice President of Professional Lake Management, gave a
presentation on weed eradication. There are three phases; 1) Assessment 2) Prescription and 3) Implementation
A motion was made, seconded and passed to hire Professional Lake Management to do assessments of both lakes for a total charge
not to exceed $3000. The first half of the fee will be paid from the emergency fund in 2008 and the second half
A discussion ensued about the lake level of Lake O’Brien and the dam at the south end of the lake.
The association is pursuing the legal process to get the lake level changed from 1234.3 feet of elevation to 1234.8 feet.
A motion was made, seconded and passed to raise the association dues from $10 per year to $20 per year per household starting in 2009.
